COUNCIL TAX

  • Bring down the cost of Council Tax.
  • 50 per cent single person discount for Council tax.
  • 50 per cent single person discount for Council Tax when you live with exempt person.
  • Reduction of Council Tax to pensioners to offset loss of Winter Fuel Payment, split between man and wife if living in same house.
  • Reduction of Council Tax to pensioner husbands of 1960s ladies (pension age 67 who are now between 60 and 67) to offset loss of Winter Fuel Payment, split between man and wife if living in same house.
  • Reduction of Council Tax to pensioner husbands of 1960s ladies (pension age 67) to offset Bedroom Tax.

SOCIAL HOUSING FOR RENT

  • Bring down the rent of Council Houses.
  • Local Housing Benefit to pay all council house rent. 
  • Council social housing on brownfield and greyfield sites, not greenbelt.
  • Put up flat pack prefabricated social housing, already with kitchen and bathroom, at half the cost of a Tesla house, only for local people of council area. Have separate sites for young people, families and pensioners. 
  • Put up flat pack prefabricated single person social housing for all homeless, with specialist housing on their own land area for people needing mental health support.
  • Put up the flat pack prefabricated housing with solar already on roof to bring down energy costs. 

  • Put up more free council public toilets without shared hand washing area.
  • Free council car parking in town centres.
  • More free disabled parking spaces in town centres and suburb shopping areas.
  • Permit foodbanks in empty shops in town centres.
  • Demand cashiers at supermarket check-outs and option of payment by cash.
