PRISONS 

• Build new public prisons to deal with prison over-crowding. 

• Nationalise all private prisons. 

• Recruit 3,000 more prison officers. 

• Redeploy / retrain DWP / Jobcentre staff as prison officers. 

• End public sector pay cap. 

• Instead of prison put drug addicts in secure treatment centres and those needing mental health help in fully public and staffed NHS mental health units. 

• You cannot be a drug addict and not commit theft or be a prostitute, as you need constant supply of the drugs, which is above even the best waged’s income. 

PROBATION 

• End Probation Service. 

• Redeploy Probation Service staff into community projects. 

• Replace Probation Service Funding with community projects to prevent kids joining criminal gangs.
